{"id":141112,"date":"2017-12-25T13:12:25","date_gmt":"2017-12-25T10:12:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/kumsal-martyrs-commemorated\/"},"modified":"2017-12-25T13:12:25","modified_gmt":"2017-12-25T10:12:25","slug":"kumsal-martyrs-commemorated","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/en\/kumsal-martyrs-commemorated\/","title":{"rendered":"Kumsal martyrs commemorated"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Turkish Cypriots, who fell martyrs on December 24, 1963 in Kumsal region of Lefko\u015fa by Greeks and Greek Cypriots, have been commemorated yesterday with a ceremony organised in front of the Martyrs memorial at the Museum of Barbarism in Kumsal, Lefko\u015fa.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Speaking at the commemoration ceremony, Secretary General of the Association of Martyrs Families and War Veterans Mehmet Kasabal\u0131 said that Greek Cypriots started to enforce their dream \u2018Enosis\u2019 54 years ago everywhere of the island, and Turkish Cypriots were stopped and kidnapped from various regions every day.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Adding that a Greek military officer carried out an attack with about 150 Greek Cypriots in Kumsal on 24 December, 196, Kasabal\u0131 said that Major Nihat \u0130lhan\u2019s wife and his three children were killed on that day.
