Prime Minister Tufan Erh\u00fcrman has stated that the leader of the Greek Cypriot Administration Nikos Anastasiades has put a wedge in the Cyprus negotiations process.<\/p>\n
President Mustafa Ak\u0131nc\u0131 and the Prime Minister discussed both domestic and foreign issues at their weekly meeting, which took place at the Presidential Palace.<\/p>\n
In a short statement to reporters after the meeting, Erh\u00fcrman said that he and the President had discussed the latest statements made by Anastasiades.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s not possible to accept Greek Cypriot leader Anastasiades\u2019 declarations \u2013 they are not constructive. His statement that the current conditions are not conducive for the negotiations to continue is a clear indication that there has been no change in his stance. We shall continue to evaluate developments together with the President. But I can clearly say that Anastasiades has stuck a wedge in the Cyprus talks\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
On the opening of the Apl\u0131c and Derinya crossing points, the Prime Minister said that he shared the President\u2019s view that there was a need for coordination between their respective offices.<\/p>\n
Asked about the process of Maronites\u2019 returning to their villages, Erh\u00fcrman said that the President\u2019s office and the Prime Ministry was continuing to coordinate on the issue.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
