Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Kudret \u00d6zersay has met with Speaker of the TRNC Assembly Teberr\u00fcken Ulu\u00e7ay and members of parliament representing the TRNC at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) and the European Parliament (EP).<\/p>\n
During the visit, Minister \u00d6zersay shared his remarks and evaluations with the delegation, speaking on foreign policy, the Cyprus problem, the hydrocarbon issue and other related issues.<\/p>\n
In a statement following the talks, Speaker of the Assembly Teberr\u00fcken Ulu\u00e7ay said that the meeting had been fruitful on the main issues of foreign policy and evaluations of their stance on different issues. He added that they are now more prepared for further discussions with overseas officials.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe believe that it will be possible for us to continue our visits and to have more productive exchanges overseas as a result of these discussions\u201d said Ulu\u00e7ay.<\/p>\n
Minister \u00d6zersay said; \u201cWe are doing what needed to be done. We are consulting with the MPs from our Assembly, even if their political views are different from each other, and we are informing them about our foreign policy. We are always ready to share information and to discuss issues related to our foreign policy. \u00a0We can do much more coordinated work on these issues, and increase our chance of being effective and conclusive in terms of international policy. In short, we have made a good start, and we believe this work will continue. Our common goal is to protect the rights and benefits of our country and our people.\u201d<\/p>\n
