{"id":141271,"date":"2018-05-10T13:17:30","date_gmt":"2018-05-10T10:17:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/president-akinci-east-med-pipeline-not-a-route-to-peace\/"},"modified":"2018-05-10T13:17:30","modified_gmt":"2018-05-10T10:17:30","slug":"president-akinci-east-med-pipeline-not-a-route-to-peace","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/en\/president-akinci-east-med-pipeline-not-a-route-to-peace\/","title":{"rendered":"President Ak\u0131nc\u0131: \u201cEast-Med pipeline not a route to peace\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Following the 4<sup>th<\/sup> trilateral meeting of South Cyprus, Greece and Israel in Nicosia to discuss a natural gas pipeline from Eastern Mediterranean to Crete-Greece- Italy, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus President Mustafa Ak\u0131nc\u0131 highlighted that the pipeline project does not offer a route to peace.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In a written statement President Ak\u0131nc\u0131 said that Tsipras, Netanyahu and Anastasiades agreed on moving the East-Med project which aims to carry East Mediterranean natural gas to Europe through Southern Cyprus , Crete, Greece and Italy one step ahead.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">President Ak\u0131nc\u0131 said that it is not possible to contribute to peace and stability in the area by wilfully excluding Turkish Cypriots and Turkey.
