{"id":141432,"date":"2018-10-05T12:03:53","date_gmt":"2018-10-05T09:03:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/ozersay-we-demand-to-remove-the-un-military-camp\/"},"modified":"2018-10-05T12:03:53","modified_gmt":"2018-10-05T09:03:53","slug":"ozersay-we-demand-to-remove-the-un-military-camp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/en\/ozersay-we-demand-to-remove-the-un-military-camp\/","title":{"rendered":"\u00d6zersay: \u201cWe demand to remove the UN military camp\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Kudret \u00d6zersay stated that the UN military camp in Gazima\u011fusa city centre should be evacuated.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In his statement to Turkish News Agency, \u00d6zersay stated that they officially demanded the removal of the United Nations Peace Keeping Force military camp in Gazima\u011fusa, also known as Stephanie Camp, at the meeting held with the UN high level officials during his recent visit to New York.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Emphasizing that the military camp which has been located in Gazima\u011fusa since 1964 and is in the middle of a housing area, in which thousands of university students are living, \u00d6zersay added that it is also not convenient to use such an area for military purposes any more. \u00d6zersay said: \u201cThis camp can be converted to a city park full of trees for public use. We want the UN to leave this area.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00d6zersay continued: \u201cOur concern is not to prevent the UN from fulfilling their duties and we informed them that if they so wish we can provide a different area if they want to move this military camp to another place, but we do not want the UN to stay here anymore.
