{"id":141453,"date":"2018-10-17T09:33:05","date_gmt":"2018-10-17T06:33:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/cavusoglu-we-will-continue-our-drilling-in-cyprus\/"},"modified":"2018-10-17T09:33:05","modified_gmt":"2018-10-17T06:33:05","slug":"cavusoglu-we-will-continue-our-drilling-in-cyprus","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/en\/cavusoglu-we-will-continue-our-drilling-in-cyprus\/","title":{"rendered":"\u00c7avu\u015fo\u011flu: &#8220;We will continue our drilling in Cyprus&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">Turkish Foreign Minister Mevl\u00fct \u00c7avu\u015fo\u011flu and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Kudret \u00d6zersay spoke at the symposium organized in the Faculty of Political Sciences at Ankara University entitled \u201cLaw and Politics in the Eastern Mediterranean\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">Stating that Turkey\u00a0will\u00a0continue drilling around the island of Cyprus, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevl\u00fct \u00c7avu\u015fo\u011flu said: &#8220;Our\u00a0concern\u00a0is not to fight with anyone, rather we want rightful sharing of the wealth.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">Indicating that they would not allow unilateral work on the Cyprus issue, \u00c7avu\u015fo\u011flu emphasized that they had to protect the rights of the Turkish Cypriot people with their active steps.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">&#8220;On one hand, we will do our drilling in the exclusive economic zone of Turkey, on the other hand, upon the invitation of TRNC, we will also continue this drilling\u00a0in\u00a0TRNC&#8217;s maritime jurisdiction areas and the exclusive economic zone around the island\u201d \u00c7avu\u015fo\u011flu said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">Pointing out the need for a clear determination of what was to be negotiated within the scope of the negotiations on\u00a0the\u00a0Cyprus issue, \u00c7avu\u015fo\u011flu said: \u201cThere might be bi-zonal or any other federal solution. We are open to all kinds of ideas.
