{"id":141594,"date":"2018-12-24T13:07:06","date_gmt":"2018-12-24T10:07:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/akar-the-price-of-provocation-in-the-aegean-mediterranean-and-cyprus-will-be-heavy\/"},"modified":"2018-12-24T13:07:06","modified_gmt":"2018-12-24T10:07:06","slug":"akar-the-price-of-provocation-in-the-aegean-mediterranean-and-cyprus-will-be-heavy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/en\/akar-the-price-of-provocation-in-the-aegean-mediterranean-and-cyprus-will-be-heavy\/","title":{"rendered":"Akar: \u201cThe price of provocation in the Aegean, Mediterranean and Cyprus will be heavy\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Stating that the tension in the Aegean and the Mediterranean should not be increased, Turkish National Defence Minister Hulusi Akar stated that everyone should refrain from provocation otherwise the price would be heavy.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Following his contacts in Qatar and Pakistan, Akar travelled to Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In his statement in Kabul, Akar stated that the rights and the interests in the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEC), which is 462,000 square kilometres, are being protected and added that there is no hesitation about this and he said: &#8220;There&#8217;s no way we can compromise our rights\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Akar reiterated that they will not allow any fait accompli in the Aegean, the Mediterranean, and Cyprus against the TRNC and the Republic of Turkey, and he also mentioned that there is no chance of survival of any projects in which Turkey does not participate and they express this on every occasion.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Akar said: \u201cWe are in favour of good-neighbourly relations and friendship, peace and stability, and prosperity of the people living in this region, yet everybody should also know that Turkey will never sacrifice their rights at any cost.
