{"id":141610,"date":"2019-01-08T13:12:53","date_gmt":"2019-01-08T10:12:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/ozersay-met-with-un-authorities-in-new-york\/"},"modified":"2019-01-08T13:12:53","modified_gmt":"2019-01-08T10:12:53","slug":"ozersay-met-with-un-authorities-in-new-york","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/en\/ozersay-met-with-un-authorities-in-new-york\/","title":{"rendered":"\u00d6zersay met with UN authorities in New York"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Kudret \u00d6zersay is holding contacts at the UN Headquarters in New York.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Within the framework of his New York contacts, \u00d6zersay met with Under-Secretary-General for UN Peacekeeping Operations Jean Pierre Lacroix.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Undersecretary of the Deputy Prime Ministry and Ministry of Foreign Affairs G\u00fcne\u015f Onar, TRNC Representative to New York \u0130smet Koruko\u011flu, 2<sup>nd<\/sup> Secretary Serta\u00e7 G\u00fcven, 3<sup>rd<\/sup> Secretary Seval G\u00f6keri and UN diplomats also attended the meeting.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00d6zersay said that they try to represent the TRNC at all international platforms, as the Turkish Cypriots deserve, with an understanding of active diplomacy. \u201cWe will try to affect the decisions of the third sides in the direction of our views at the meetings with the UN and the member state representatives of the Security Council. Diplomacy is a process. It is possible to reach a result with new and creative views put forth at different meetings, not only at one meeting. With this opinion, we will represent the Turkish Cypriots as they deserve at all possible international platforms and try to affect the decisions\u201d \u00a0\u00d6zersay added.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Expressing that they brought up the subject of moving the UN military camp in Gazima\u011fusa to the agenda at the meeting, \u00d6zersay said that they will receive an official reply from the UN on the issue and they will determine their attitude according to the reply.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Minister \u00d6zersay also met with the UK\u2019s Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador J.
