{"id":141866,"date":"2019-07-15T10:34:04","date_gmt":"2019-07-15T07:34:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/new-hydrocarbon-proposal-from-akinci-to-anastasiades\/"},"modified":"2019-07-15T10:34:04","modified_gmt":"2019-07-15T07:34:04","slug":"new-hydrocarbon-proposal-from-akinci-to-anastasiades","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/en\/new-hydrocarbon-proposal-from-akinci-to-anastasiades\/","title":{"rendered":"\u201cNew hydrocarbon proposal\u201d from Ak\u0131nc\u0131 to Anastasiades"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">President Mustafa Ak\u0131nc\u0131 made a new proposal to the Greek Cypriot Leader Nikos Anastasiades through the UN Special Representative Office in Cyprus towards the \u201cestablishment of a joint committee\u201d on the hydrocarbon issue.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">President Ak\u0131nc\u0131 conveyed the proposal to Anastasiades yesterday (14<sup>th<\/sup> July) through the Coordinator of the UN Good Offices Mission Sergiy Illarionov with the aim of giving Anastasiades the chance to pre-examine and to later evaluate the proposal at a tete-a-tete meeting.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">President Ak\u0131nc\u0131&#8217;s new proposal is aimed at changing the issue of hydrocarbons from being an area of tension and conflict into an area of fruitful cooperation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The proposal involves the establishment of a joint committee which will be under the supervision of the UN and which will be formed with the participation of the same number of members from both sides.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The proposal which set forward the structure, targets and methodology of the committee also includes the establishment of a fund and details on how this fund will be used.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ak\u0131nc\u0131 also sent the proposal to the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, the President of the EU Commission President Jean Claude Juncker and the High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>President Mustafa Ak\u0131nc\u0131 made a new proposal to the Greek Cypriot Leader Nikos Anastasiades through the<span class=\"excerpt-hellip\"> [\u2026]<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":9,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[19],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-141866","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-news-headlines"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/141866","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/9"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=141866"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/141866\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=141866"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=141866"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=141866"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
