{"id":142005,"date":"2019-10-30T13:03:48","date_gmt":"2019-10-30T10:03:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/ozersay-there-is-nothing-new-or-exciting-about-the-tripartite-meeting\/"},"modified":"2019-10-30T13:03:48","modified_gmt":"2019-10-30T10:03:48","slug":"ozersay-there-is-nothing-new-or-exciting-about-the-tripartite-meeting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/en\/ozersay-there-is-nothing-new-or-exciting-about-the-tripartite-meeting\/","title":{"rendered":"\u00d6zersay: \u2018There is nothing new or exciting about the tripartite meeting\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Kudret \u00d6zersay said \u2018If we continue to turn a blind eye on the actual reasons why the negotiations for the Cyprus problem have failed for 51 years, the tripartite meeting to be held in November will not be different than the previous ones.\u2019<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In his written statement, Minister \u00d6zersay pointed out that there was nothing new or exciting about the tripartite meeting scheduled to take place in November in Berlin. \u00d6zersay said \u2018We must talk about the actual problem rather than repeating the very well known sentences \u2018political equality\u2019, \u2018not an open ended process\u2019 and \u2018hope to be successful this time\u2019. There is lack of common vision between the two sides and that is the reason that the UN Secretary General has not wanted to be involved in the process since 2017.\u2019<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00d6zersay also stated that the Terms of Reference paper could not be concluded because of that lack of common vision and a federal partnership means sharing the power and the wealth. However it is clear that the Greek Cypriot side is not ready or willing to share.
