{"id":142286,"date":"2020-08-17T10:54:23","date_gmt":"2020-08-17T07:54:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/president-akinci-negotiation-is-needed-for-sharing-and-compromise\/"},"modified":"2020-08-17T10:54:23","modified_gmt":"2020-08-17T07:54:23","slug":"president-akinci-negotiation-is-needed-for-sharing-and-compromise","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/en\/president-akinci-negotiation-is-needed-for-sharing-and-compromise\/","title":{"rendered":"President Ak\u0131nc\u0131: \u201cNegotiation is needed for sharing and compromise\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">President Mustafa Ak\u0131nc\u0131 evaluated the process experienced in the Eastern Mediterranean during his visits held yesterday.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Expressing that negotiation is needed in the Eastern Mediterranean for fair sharing and compromise, Ak\u0131nc\u0131 pointed out that natural gas in and around the Island of Cyprus involves potential wealth for the future of both communities and regional countries in case of cooperation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThere is no doubt that both communities have share in that common wealth. It seems that the Greek Cypriot side\u2019s refusing our proposals submitted on July, 2019 to end the tension in the Eastern Mediterranean was a serious mistake. There are three ways to be followed on the issue of natural gas in the Eastern Mediterranean. Either all sides will suspend all actions until reaching an agreement or find ways to act together. The conditions to act together is planning the common wealth together and sharing in a fair way but this proposal was refused. In that case, the third way is working separately as it is done now which is also a dangerous process that causes tension in the region.
