{"id":142513,"date":"2021-01-27T13:04:26","date_gmt":"2021-01-27T10:04:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/muftuzade-denies-greek-cypriot-news\/"},"modified":"2021-01-27T13:04:26","modified_gmt":"2021-01-27T10:04:26","slug":"muftuzade-denies-greek-cypriot-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/en\/muftuzade-denies-greek-cypriot-news\/","title":{"rendered":"M\u00fcft\u00fczade denies Greek Cypriot news"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"color: black;\">The Turkish Cypriot member of the Committee for Missing Persons in Cyprus Hakk\u0131 M\u00fcft\u00fczade made a statement to the Turkish News Agency (TAK) and has denied claims made by a Greek Cypriot newspaper that there are remains of Greek Cypriot missing persons under the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus flag located on the Be\u015fparmaklar Mountain. \u201cWe would like them to write this article in consultation with the Greek Cypriot member of the bi-communal Missing Persons Committee,\u201d said M\u00fcft\u00fczade, who added that the Missing Persons Committee did not take a decision regarding the digging up of the TRNC flag location.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"color: black;\">Furthermore, M\u00fcft\u00fczade said that the issue of missing persons is a \u201chumane\u201d and \u201csensitive\u201d issue, and that the publication of \u201cunfounded\u201d news in this way serves no purpose other than to create mistrust. M\u00fcft\u00fczade also said such an article being published is very unfortunate as the United Nations Secretary General is taking initiatives on the Cyprus problem and the Greek Cypriot side is preparing to bring confidence building measures to the agenda.
