{"id":142729,"date":"2021-06-25T10:07:16","date_gmt":"2021-06-25T07:07:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/tatar-makes-statement-at-ercan-airport-before-departing-for-brussels\/"},"modified":"2021-06-25T10:07:16","modified_gmt":"2021-06-25T07:07:16","slug":"tatar-makes-statement-at-ercan-airport-before-departing-for-brussels","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/en\/tatar-makes-statement-at-ercan-airport-before-departing-for-brussels\/","title":{"rendered":"Tatar makes statement at Ercan Airport before departing for Brussels"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>President Ersin Tatar will be meeting with the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres in Brussels today (25th June 2021).<br \/>\nSpeaking to reporters at Ercan airport on Thursday morning (24th June) before departing for Brussels, Tatar repeated his view that any new negotiations on the Cyprus issue must be for a two-state solution based on sovereign equality and the cooperation of the two equal states.<br \/>\n\u201cIt is clear that an agreement will not be reached in Cyprus as long as the talks are not carried out between two equal states,\u201d he said.<br \/>\n\u201cOur position is clear. We demand that our equality and international equal status are recognised.
