{"id":142733,"date":"2021-07-02T08:45:03","date_gmt":"2021-07-02T05:45:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/president-tatar-appointing-a-special-representative-for-cyprus-is-not-meaningful\/"},"modified":"2021-07-02T08:45:03","modified_gmt":"2021-07-02T05:45:03","slug":"president-tatar-appointing-a-special-representative-for-cyprus-is-not-meaningful","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/en\/president-tatar-appointing-a-special-representative-for-cyprus-is-not-meaningful\/","title":{"rendered":"President Tatar: \u201c Appointing a Special Representative for Cyprus is not meaningful\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">President Ersin Tatar stated that as they expressed in Geneva, appointing a Special Representative for Cyprus before starting the official negotiation process would not be meaningful and it might even cause problems.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Stressing that UN Secretary General\u2019s Temporary Special Envoy for Cyprus, Jane Holl Lute is already working to examine whether there is a common ground to start official negotiations, Tatar said that it would not be right to appoint a higher ranking Special Representative at this time.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">President Tatar received the Turkish Foreign Minister Mevl\u00fct \u00c7avu\u015fo\u011flu who made a working visit to the TRNC.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Following their meeting at the TRNC Presidency, an inter-delegation meeting was also held.
