{"id":144179,"date":"2025-01-14T11:56:43","date_gmt":"2025-01-14T08:56:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/?p=144179"},"modified":"2025-01-15T12:30:57","modified_gmt":"2025-01-15T09:30:57","slug":"founding-president-denktas-remembered","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/en\/founding-president-denktas-remembered\/","title":{"rendered":"Founding President Denkta\u015f remembered"},"content":{"rendered":"<div dir=\"ltr\">\n<div>TRNC Founding President Rauf Raif Denkta\u015f was remembered on the 13th anniversary of his death.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>A ceremony was held at the mausoleum of Founding President Denkta\u015f in Lefko\u015fa.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>President Ersin Tatar, Parliamentary Speaker Ziya \u00d6zt\u00fcrkler, Prime Minister \u00dcnal \u00dcstel, Chief Justice Betan \u00d6zerda\u011f, second President Mehmet Ali Talat, T\u00fcrkiye\u2019s Ambassador to Lefko\u015fa Yasin Ekrem Serim, the Cyprus Turkish Peace Forces Major General Sebahattin K\u0131l\u0131n\u00e7, the Security Forces Commander Major General \u0130lker G\u00f6rg\u00fcl\u00fc, Republican Turkish Party (CTP) Leader Tufan Erh\u00fcrman, Deputy Prime Minister, Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Minister Fikri Atao\u011flu, Public Works and Transport Minister Erhan Ar\u0131kl\u0131, some ministers and MPs, Lefko\u015fa Turkish Municipality (LTB) Mayor Mehmet Harmanc\u0131, and representatives of civil society attended the ceremony.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>After signing the special memorial book, President Ersin Tatar gave a speech to mark the anniversary.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>In his speech, President Tatar paid tribute to the late founding president Denkta\u015f, saying that Denkta\u015f had devoted his entire life to the freedom and independence of the Turkish Cypriot people.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"iX\"><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>TRNC Founding President Rauf Raif Denkta\u015f was remembered on the 13th anniversary of his death.
