The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus’s Fourth Five-Year Development Plan (2025-2029) was introduced at a meeting held yesterday (29 January 2025).<\/p>\n
The plan aims to enhance the country\u2019s economic, social, and cultural development while improving the well-being of the Turkish Cypriot people.<\/p>\n
The meeting was attended by President Ersin Tatar, Prime Minister \u00dcnal \u00dcstel, Turkish Vice President Cevdet Y\u0131lmaz, ministers, MPs and state bureaucrats.<\/p>\n
In his speech, President Tatar\u00a0stated that the growth plan would help the TRNC become as a separate state and support Turkish Cypriot\u2019s independence struggle. He also\u00a0expressed gratitude to those involved in the preparation of the plan.<\/p>\n
During the meeting, Turkish Vice President Cevdet Y\u0131lmaz remarked, \u201cThe growth plan will lay a strong foundation for our cooperation and for improving the welfare of Turkish Cypriots.\u201d<\/p>\n
He noted that the TRNC economy is expected to grow at an average annual rate of 5 percent in the 2025-2029 period. Y\u0131lmaz also stated that per capita income is projected to reach 19 thousand 115 USD by the end of the plan in 2029.<\/p>\n
Y\u0131lmaz emphasized that the main vision is to create a competitive TRNC with high-added-value output that ensuring consistent and strong growth. He reiterated that T\u00fcrkiye will continue to support a solution on two sovereign states.<\/p>\n
Addressing the meeting, Prime Minister \u00dcnal \u00dcstel described the plan as a historic milestone, stressing that it is not just an economic strategy but a vision for the future of the TRNC. \u00dcstel highlighted the critical role of T\u00fcrkiye\u2019s support, stating that the plan focuses on building a strong economy, a sustainable environment, and a socially cohesive society.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
