{"id":147679,"date":"2025-07-28T13:29:49","date_gmt":"2025-07-28T10:29:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/?p=147679"},"modified":"2025-07-28T13:29:49","modified_gmt":"2025-07-28T10:29:49","slug":"taspinar-martyrs-remembered","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/en\/taspinar-martyrs-remembered\/","title":{"rendered":"Ta\u015fp\u0131nar Martyrs remembered"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A commemoration ceremony was held in Ta\u015fp\u0131nar on 25 July Friday to honor those martyred during the years of the national struggle.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>President Ersin Tatar also attended the ceremony and delivered a speech.<\/p>\n<p>In his address, President Ersin Tatar emphasized that the gathering was to commemorate those who sacrificed their lives so the Turkish Cypriot people could live independently.<\/p>\n<p>He described the ceremony as both an expression of respect for the past and a reaffirmation of the community\u2019s values, reiterating, \u201cWe will neither forget our martyrs nor allow them to be forgotten.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Referring to the ongoing events in the Gaza, Tatar remarked that the Turkish Cypriot people endured similar attrocities 60 years ago.
