{"id":147932,"date":"2025-08-14T14:54:29","date_gmt":"2025-08-14T11:54:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/?p=147932"},"modified":"2025-08-14T14:54:29","modified_gmt":"2025-08-14T11:54:29","slug":"ustel-14-august-marks-both-heroism-and-pain","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/en\/ustel-14-august-marks-both-heroism-and-pain\/","title":{"rendered":"\u00dcstel: \u201c14 August marks both heroism and pain\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"x_ydp165c331MsoNormal\">Prime Minister \u00dcnal \u00dcstel released a statement marking the second phase of the Cyprus Peace Operation, honoring the martyrs of Haspolat, Murata\u011fa, Atl\u0131lar and Sandallar, as well as Martyr Pilot Cengiz Topel, and celebrating the Liberation Day of Serdarl\u0131.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_ydp165c331MsoNormal\">\n<p class=\"x_ydp165c331MsoNormal\">Prime Minister \u00dcstel described August 14 as a day that embodies both heroism and sorrow paying tribute with mercy to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for their country and expressing gratitude to the veterans and fighters.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_ydp165c331MsoNormal\">\n<p class=\"x_ydp165c331MsoNormal\">\u00dcstel indicated that before the Peace Operation on 20 July 1974, Turkish Cypriots had been subjected to Greek Cypriot attacks for many years and had lived under oppression.
