{"id":148193,"date":"2025-09-01T15:13:54","date_gmt":"2025-09-01T12:13:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/?p=148193"},"modified":"2025-09-01T15:13:54","modified_gmt":"2025-09-01T12:13:54","slug":"30-august-victory-day-celebrated-with-ceremonies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/en\/30-august-victory-day-celebrated-with-ceremonies\/","title":{"rendered":"30 August Victory Day celebrated with ceremonies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span lang=\"TR\">The 103rd anniversary of 30 August Victory Day was commemorated with a ceremony held on Dr Faz\u0131l K\u00fc\u00e7\u00fck Boulevard in Lefko\u015fa.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"TR\">\u00a0<\/span>The event was attended by President Ersin Tatar, Speaker of the TRNC Assembly Ziya \u00d6zt\u00fcrkler, Prime Minister \u00dcnal \u00dcstel, President of the Supreme Court Bertan \u00d6zerda\u011f, Second President Mehmet Ali Talat, Ambassador of the Republic of T\u00fcrkiye to Lefko\u015fa Ali Murat Ba\u015f\u00e7eri, Commander of the Turkish Peace Forces in Cyprus Lieutenant General Sebahattin K\u0131l\u0131n\u00e7, Commander of the Security Forces Major General \u0130lker G\u00f6rg\u00fcl\u00fc, Leader of the main opposition CTP Tufan Erh\u00fcrman, as well as \u00a0ministers, civilian and military officials, and representatives of various institutions, organizations, and associations.<\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"TR\">\u00a0<\/span>In his address during the parade, President Ersin Tatar emphasised that each year on this sacred day, the Turkish nation recalls with gratitude the epic struggle that secured independence and freedom at the cost of great sacrifice. He underlined that 30 August is &#8220;far more than a military triumph; it is the embodiment of national will, the strength of unity and solidarity, and the eternal yearning for freedom&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"TR\">\u00a0<\/span>President Tatar added that under the visionary leadership of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atat\u00fcrk, the Turkish nation, despite deprivation and hardship, defeated the forces of occupation &#8212; securing not only independence but heralding the birth of the Republic of T\u00fcrkiye.
