{"id":150827,"date":"2026-02-12T17:04:12","date_gmt":"2026-02-12T14:04:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/?p=150827"},"modified":"2026-02-12T17:04:12","modified_gmt":"2026-02-12T14:04:12","slug":"president-erhurman-meets-with-unsg-guterres","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/en\/president-erhurman-meets-with-unsg-guterres\/","title":{"rendered":"President Erh\u00fcrman meets with UNSG Guterres"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>President Tufan Erh\u00fcrman met with United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Antonio Guterres at the UN Headquarters in New York on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>During the bilateral meeting, views were exchanged on current regional developments, particularly the Cyprus issue, and President Erh\u00fcrman set out to the Secretary-General his four-point methodology regarding the settlement process, which the President had previously made public, as well as providing an update on recent developments relating to the confidence-building measures. The President also reiterated his longstanding position that the unjust and unlawful isolation imposed on the Turkish Cypriot people should be lifted without further delay.<\/p>\n<p>Following his meetings, President Erh\u00fcrman will be returning to the island on Thursday, 12 February at 8.30pm.
