Foreign Minister Tahsin Ertu\u011frulo\u011flu delivered a speech at a panel titled \u201cA New Framework for the Global Order: A Strategic Communication Perspective\u201d held in Istanbul as part of \u201cSTRATCOM (International Strategic Communication Summit) 2026\u201d.<\/p>\n
According to Anadolu Agecy, the panel, moderated by Alican Ayanlar from TRT World, brought together Fuat Oktay, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Grand National Assembly of T\u00fcrkiye and AK Party MP for Ankara; Tahsin Ertu\u011frulo\u011flu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus; Hamzah Almustafa, Minister of Information of Syria; Zahir Uddin Swapon, Minister of Information and Broadcasting of Bangladesh; and Kanat Iskakov, First Vice Minister of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan.<\/p>\n
In his remarks, Minister Ertu\u011frulo\u011flu stated that, from the perspective of Turkish Cypriots, the old world order has collapsed, adding that the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council have rewarded Greek Cypriots while punishing Turkish Cypriots.<\/p>\n
Highlighting that disinformation remains one of the biggest challenges faced by Turkish Cypriots, Ertu\u011frulo\u011flu said \u201cThe non-recognition of the TRNC is also a reason for this.\u201d<\/p>\n
Ertu\u011frulo\u011flu noted that, as Turkish Cypriots, they are targeted by the international community as a kind of \u201cillegal international entity,\u201d and he highlighted T\u00fcrkiye\u2019s support for his country in overcoming challenges.<\/p>\n
Emphasizing their determination to oppose injustice, Ertu\u011frulo\u011flu stated, \u201cWe are very fortunate; our homeland T\u00fcrkiye stands by us.\u201d<\/p>\n
Foreign Minister Tahsin Ertu\u011frulo\u011flu also gave interviews in both Turkish and English to various media outlets following the panel.<\/p>\n
During his visit to Istanbul, Minister Ertu\u011frulo\u011flu was accompanied by Zalihe Mendeli, Consul General of the TRNC in Istanbul, and Deputy Consul Serdar Durukan.<\/p>\n
