{"id":152192,"date":"2026-05-21T11:07:49","date_gmt":"2026-05-21T08:07:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/?p=152192"},"modified":"2026-05-22T11:08:38","modified_gmt":"2026-05-22T08:08:38","slug":"prime-minister-ustel-calls-for-support-for-energy-projects","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/en\/prime-minister-ustel-calls-for-support-for-energy-projects\/","title":{"rendered":"Prime Minister \u00dcstel calls for support for energy projects"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Speaking at a joint press conference with Turkish Vice President Cevdet Y\u0131lmaz in Ankara, Prime Minister \u00dcnal \u00dcstel described relations between T\u00fcrkiye and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus as far beyond ordinary diplomatic ties, saying the relationship was founded on shared history, common struggle and an \u201cunbreakable brotherhood bond.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Prime Minister \u00dcstel called on the Greek Cypriot administration, the European Union and the international community to support major energy and infrastructure projects planned between T\u00fcrkiye and the TRNC, stressing that such initiatives could contribute directly to cooperation, stability and trust on the island.<\/p>\n<p>\u00dcstel said the meeting had focused extensively on strategic energy projects between T\u00fcrkiye and the TRNC. Referring the \u201cCentury Project\u201d that brought water from T\u00fcrkiye to the TRNC, \u00dcstel said new electricity and natural gas projects would now transform the country\u2019s future.<\/p>\n<p>Stating that works on the interconnection electricity cable project had largely been completed on the Turkish Cypriot side, \u00dcstel said that political obstacles and delays over permits had slowed progress.
