21 December, 201815 more martyrs, who were massacred in Muratağa on August 14, 1974, were buried in Muratağa-Sandallar Martyrdom following identification by the Committee on Missing Persons.
Except for 79-year-old Hasan Hüseyin, all of the other 14 martyrs were women and children.
The martyrs were brought to the Muratağa-Sandallar Martyrdom and were then buried with a military ceremony.
Speaking at the ceremony, President of the Martyrs’ Families and War Veterans Association, Gürsel Benan stated that the Turkish Cypriot people will never forget the massacre of 126 innocent and defenceless people, 44 years ago on 14 August 1974, from a 26-day old baby to a 95-year-old.
