17 November, 2017The remains of three missing martyrs from 1963, Kemal Koççino (Goççino), Mehmet Koççino (Goççino) and Hüseyin Mustafa Vreççalı, whose remains were found during excavations at Tekke Garden, will be buried today.
The remains of the three martyrs from Küçük Kaymaklı will be buried at the Tekke Garden with a military ceremony after the funeral prayer at Küçük Kaymaklı Mosque.
During the events of 1963, the three martyrs escaped from Küçük Kaymaklı to Hamitköy on 25 December. When they returned to Küçük Kaymakli the next morning to feed their animals they were killed by Greek Cypriots militants and their remains were lost.
The remains of the three missing martyrs were identified as a result of the ongoing efforts of the Committee on Missing Persons.
