2 June, 2016Stating that ongoing negotiations on the Cyprus problem have been damaged because of the artificial crisis created by the Greek Cypriot leader and that something has to be done to overcome the crisis, Presidential Undersecretary Gürdal Hüdaoğlu said: “In this regard, responsibility considerably belongs to Anastasiades.”
Speaking on a program, Hüdaoğlu reminded that President Akıncı made a statement concerning speeding up the process, returning to the table and the issues should be discussed once again. Hüdaoğlu added “We hope to receive a positive response from the Greek Cypriot Leader”.
Hüdaoğlu stressed that the attitude of the Greek Cypriot Leader Anastasiades will be very important to overcome the crisis created in İstanbul.
Expressing “We want to know if the attitude of Anastasiades is merely impulsive behaviour or a part of a long term strategy”, Hüdaoğlu emphasized that it is essential to focus on a solution target in 2016 adding that President Akıncı has no other aim apart from a solution.
