12 July, 2016President Mustafa Akıncı issued a message on national Press Day, 11th July, in which he stated that “It is clear that, from time to time, distorted messaging in the Greek Cypriot media has caused public tension in the TRNC. However, we have to remain loyal to our commitments and continue onwards without straying from our main path.”
“This does not mean that our community will be kept unaware of any developments. By taking into consideration the place, timing and measure, we are doing – and will continue to do – what is necessary in order to correctly inform the public about the negotiation process.”
