22 September, 2016The Turkish Cypriot people have been isolated from the world and the international community for too long, President Mustafa Akıncı has stated.
Speaking to a TAK reporter on his way to New York, President Akıncı said that: “This is a great injustice against our society. Now is the time for us to change this situation and take the place that we deserve amongst the international community.
“The isolation, which the Turkish Cypriot people have suffered for half a century, must end now. We should build a new future where we live in equality, freedom and security. We can do this. We are going to New York with this political commitment and willpower and we hope our determination will not remain unrequited.”a
