30 September, 2020Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Kudret Özersay met Elizabeth Spehar, Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General (SRSG) in Cyprus and Head of UNFICYP.
Özersay conveyed to Spehar his expectation that the UN should play a more active role in the armament activities carried out by the Greek Cypriot side in the island and the tensions it created in the Eastern Mediterranean region.
Özersay and Spehar exchanged views on various other issues, including the Cyprus issue.
