23 November, 2023The Ozanköy Martyrs were commemorated with a ceremony in Ozanköy, Girne.
State, government, military officials and civilian staff as well as families of the martyrs attended the ceremony held in Ozanköy.
Ali Mehmet, Barut Kaşıkçı, Nuh Ahmet, Necmi Ali Kaya, Halil İbrahim Recep and Mustafa Hasan Yavaş who had been martyred between 1963-1974 were remembered with a ceremony held in front of the Ozanköy Martyrs’ Monument.
Following the observance of a minute’s silence, the firing of shots in tribute and the hoisting of flags to the national anthem, prayers and poems were recited for the five martyrs.
