Injustices against TRNC emphasized in the House of Lords

The Vice Chairman of the UK Parliament All-Party Parliamentary Group for the TRNC (APPG-TRNC), Lord Sharkey, in his speech in the House of Lords, addressed the President Ersin Tatar’s two-state solution proposal and the unjust isolations imposed on the Turkish Cypriot People.

Following President Ersin Tatar’s recent intensive diplomatic efforts in London, including engagements with the parliament and the House of Lords, as well as media meetings, injustices against the TRNC were expressed in the House of Lords.

In his speech in the House of Lords in the UK, Lord Sharkey mentioned that numerous attempts for reunification based on a bizonal, bicommunal federation

have been made in the past half-century, of which have failed, and referred to President Ersin Tatar’s two-state solution proposal and raised the issue of the isolations imposed on the Turkish Cypriot People.

Addressing the UK government, Lord Sharkey advised that by allowing direct flights to Northern Cyprus, they could assist in the economically crucial flow of tourists from the UK to Northern Cyprus.
