Türkiye calls for solidarity against isolation of Turkish Cypriots
9 April, 2025The first Prime Minister of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), Mustafa Çağatay, was commemorated on the 36 anniversary of his passing with a ceremony in Karaoğlanoğlu Cemetery yesterday.
Prime Minister Ünal Üstel paid tribute to the late Prime Minister Çağatay on the 36th anniversary of his passing by issuing a message of praise and respect.
In his statement, Üstel emphasized Çağatay’s unforgettable contributions to the Turkish Cypriot people’s struggle for existence and the founding of the state.
He highlighted Çağatay’s service in key positions and noted that Çağatay defended the rights of the people and played a crucial role in shaping the state by making significant decisions.
“His struggle for a democratic, strong, and independent TRNC will always guide us. His statesmanship, principled stance, and dedication to his people continue to inspire us today,” said Üstel.
