A ceremony was held at the Topçuköy Martyrs Monument to pay tribute to nine residents of Topçuköy who were martyred during the National Struggle and the 1974 Cyprus Peace Operation.
Delivering remarks at the ceremony, President of the Topçuköy National Struggle and Martyrs’ Remembrance Association, Metin Balan, recalled the oppression and inhumane treatment endured by the Turkish Cypriot people between 1878 and1974. He emphasized that these experiences would never be forgotten.
The ceremony concluded with the recitation of the poem titled “Martyrs Never Die” by Topçuköy students Elvin Kont and Jale Eker, followed by a moment of prayer.
