14 July, 2026Greek Cypriot administration rejects request of Evkaf to visit mosques
16 July, 2026Prime Minister Ünal Üstel has criticized remarks made by EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas concerning the natural gas pipeline agreement signed between Türkiye and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).
In a statement issued by the Prime Ministry, Üstel rejected Kallas’ comments and expressed regret over the European Union’s stance. He argued that the EU has lost its impartiality on the Cyprus issue and has consistently aligned itself with the positions of the Greek Cypriot administration.
“Consequently, any political statement issued by the EU concerning the legitimate rights of the Turkish Cypriot people holds no validity from the perspective of the TRNC,” Prime Minister Üstel said.
