PM Üstel condemns Kallas
16 July, 2026The Greek Cypriot administration of Southern Cyprus (GCASC) has reportedly rejected a request by the Cyprus Foundations Administration (Evkaf) to organize group visits to several mosques located in Southern Cyprus.
Prof. Dr. Mustafa Tümer, the Director General of the EVKAF Administration, informed Anadolu Agency that the request had been submitted through the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP) to organize group visits on religious days to three mosques located in various cities across the Greek Cypriot administration (GCA).
Tümer underlined that their requests to visit the Cami-i Kebir (Great Mosque) in Paphos and the Köprülü Hacı İbrahim Ağa Mosque in Limassol were denied.
Recalling that until the past three years, the Greek Cypriot administration had allowed group visits to these mosques from the TRNC under programs organized by EVKAF, he described the rejection of the two requests in the latest program as incomprehensible.
