22 November, 2016Council of Ministers approved a draft law regarding Lefke becoming the 6th district and sent it to the Republic Assembly.
In his written statement following the meeting, Prime Minister Hüseyin Özgürgün stated that “Upon the completion of preparations for Lefke to become the 6th district, which we have been working on for a long time and which has been closely followed by the public, a Structural Administration and Departments (Amendment) Draft Law has been approved and sent to the Republic Assembly.”
