9 July, 2018Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Kudret Özersay said that some actions need to be taken in order to realise the Maronite initiative in the TRNC.
President Mustafa Akıncı held a meeting with coalition government yesterday, and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Kudret Özersay made a statement on behalf of the government following the meeting.
Özersay stated that the meeting had mainly focused on the issue of Maronites and the Derinya and Aplıç crossing points. The Deputy Prime Minister said that some steps must be taken in the fields of title deeds, infrastructure and similar issues in order to realise the Maronite initiative concretely. Touching upon the opening of the Derinya and Aplıç crossing points, Özersay stated that the tender process was ongoing.
