10 March, 2017President Mustafa Akıncı yesterday received UK Labour Party Members of Parliament, Fabian Hamilton and Khalid Mahmood.
During the reception, the President and UK MPs discussed the negotiation process and its latest developments.
President Akıncı told the MPs that the Turkish Cypriot people are committed to ensuring bi-zonal, bi-communal federal settlement on the basis of equality, freedom and security as soon as possible, and added that all the initiatives and steps taken in this regard have been accepted by all parties.
Stating that the Enosis decision taken by the Greek Cypriot parliament harms the negotiation process, Akıncı said that the Greek Cypriot Administration should show the will and determination necessary for a settlement.
President Akıncı also received the British High Commissioner, Matthew Kidd and his accompanying delegations yesterday.
