Tatar: “It is not acceptable for the Greek Cypriot administration to cooperate with the Haftar administration”
30 December, 2019Akıncı: ‘EastMed natural gas pipeline agreement is against geographical realities, economically irrational and solely based on political concerns’
3 January, 2020Turkish Foreign Ministry Spokesman Hami Aksoy made a written statement regarding the Eastmed project agreement signed between the Greek Cypriot Administration, Greece and Israel.
Emphasizing that the signing of this agreement is a new instance of the futile steps that excludes Turkey and the TRNC in the region, Aksoy stated that no project can be successful that excludes Turkish Cypriots and Turkey, which has the longest coastline in the region.
Aksoy added: “We bring this issue to the attention of the international community once again. In the evaluation of natural resources in the Eastern Mediterranean and the most economical and safe route for the transmission to consumer markets in Europe, including our country, is Turkey. However, the lack of cooperation with us and the Turkish Cypriots is a clear indication that some countries are in pursuit of vicious political accounts rather than cooperation. We would like to remind the project participants that such unfair actions will not hold in the future, as they did in the past.”
