Turkish Minister of Treasury and Finance Berat Albayrak stated that the Eastern Mediterranean is very important for Turkey and they cannot accept what is dictated. Attending a programme on CNN Türk, Albayrak answered the questions regarding the agenda and the economy and also spoke about Cyprus.

Evaluating the drilling crisis in the Eastern Mediterranean, Albayrak reminded that the process started when he was the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources and added “We have started our own drilling process by organizing our team including our vessels, engineers and experts in Turkey’s territorial waters. The TRNC is a state and also has territorial waters. There is a strong will put forward by Turkey and the TRNC as well. We have to continue our struggle. We have our vessel ‘Fatih’ and our other vessel ‘Yavuz’ will also come into operation. The Eastern Mediterranean is very important and we cannot accept what is dictated to us”.
