11 November, 2016Presidential Spokesperson Barış Burcu stated that significant progress has been made on four chapters and added that developments regarding the territory issue are being discussed in a positive atmosphere.
Burcu stated that President Mustafa Akıncı and Greek Cypriot Leader Nikos Anastasiades have begun to address the criteria at the heart of the territory issue during their negotiations in Mont Pelerin and added that the two leaders will continue to discuss the criteria on the territory issue as well today.
Burcu added that the meetings in Mont Pelerin are going well and as planned.
Barış Burcu said that if an agreement is reached on the criteria of the territory issue, then working on a map would be on the agenda, as well as determining a date for the five-party conference where “security and guarantees” would be discussed.
