The Supreme Board of Elections announced that the election calendar for the Assembly of the Republic and Local Authorities by-elections to be held on 25 June will start on 26 May, 2023.

A by-election will be held for the 1 Lefkoşa parliamentary seat vacated position in Parliament following the  resignation of the leader of People’s Party (HP) Kudret Özersay from the parliament in June last year.

Local by-elections will be also held for 1 position of mukhtar and a total of 50 members of the board of elders in 5 districts, which have become vacant for various reasons on 25 June.
