
Üstel: “A private company specialising in deep-sea operations authorised”
9 September, 2026The cabinet reshuffle carried out by Prime Minister Ünal Üstel has officially taken effect following the publication of the relevant decisions in the Official Gazette.
Under the reshuffle, Olgun Amcaoğlu was relieved of his duties as Minister of Economy and Energy and was replaced by Hasan Taçoy, Member of Parliament for Lefkoşa from the National Unity Party (UBP).
Faiz Sucuoğlu, UBP Lefkoşa MP, was appointed to replace Erhan Arıklı as Minister of Public Works and Transport.
Sucuoğlu was first elected to the Republic’s Assembly in the 2013 general elections. Having subsequently been elected Chairman of the UBP and serving as Prime Minister, Sucuoğlu has also held various ministerial portfolios in different governments, including Tourism, Health, and Labour and Social Security.
Hasan Taçoy was first elected to the Republic’s Assembly in the 1998 general elections. Throughout his political career, he has served in various governments as Minister of Public Works and Transport, Minister of Economy and Energy, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Minister of Labour and Social Security.
