Çavuşoğlu: “Any solution to be provided on the Cyprus issue will benefit everyone”

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu held a joint press conference with his Greek counterpart Nikos Kotzias after their meeting in Ankara yesterday. The Cyprus issue was discussed at the meeting.

During his remarks to the press, Çavuşoğlu reiterated that no result was reached at the talks held in Crans-Montana earlier this year, despite Turkey playing a constructive and solution-oriented role throughout the duration of the negotiations.

Çavuşoğlu said, “Turkey showed great sincerity in Crans-Montana, but unfortunately no result was reached.” He added that they evaluated which steps to be taken from now on and emphasised that any solution to be provided on the Cyprus issue will be for the benefit of everyone on the island.
