28 September, 2018Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu stressed that it is not meaningful to start Cyprus negotiations just for the sake of conversation.
While evaluating his New York visit to Turkish press members, Çavuşoğlu commented on the Cyprus problem and said that he had some informal meetings on the Cyprus issue.
Turkish Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu said: “Our previous efforts failed to succeed. The last time was in Crans Montana. To start a new negotiation process we need to decide amongst ourselves what to negotiate and why to negotiate. The whole world and everyone witnessed that it is not meaningful to start negotiations just for the sake of conversation and we agree with them. We have expressed our opinion to the United Nations authorities.”
