4 November, 2016The Turkish Minister for European Union Affairs and Chief Negotiator Ömer Çelik stated that the Guarantees issue is a matter that is indisputable for Turkey in the Cyprus settlement process.
As part of a visit to the Greek capital Athens, Çelik held a press conference and said that Turkey has always held a constructive attitude in relation to the Cyprus issue.
He added that progress has been made on the issues which have been discussed, namely the European Union matters and Territorial Adjustments.
The Security and Guarantees issue will ultimately be discussed in a five-party meeting together with the guarantor countries, he said.
Furthermore, Çelik stated that it is obvious that so far, the negotiation process is being carried out in a very positive manner by all three sides, including the UN.
