Constitutional Court of TRNC joins Conference of Constitutional Jurisdictions of the Turkic World

The Constitutional Court of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) has officially joined the Turkish World Constitutional Justice Conference (TÜRK-AY) as an observer member.

President of the Constitutional Court of the TRNC, Bertan Özerdağ and Constitutional Court member Peri Hakkı attended the events marking the 30^th. Anniversary of the adoption of Azerbaijan’s Constitution.

TRNC’s highest judicial body was granted observer status during the Turkish World Constitutional Justice Conference hosted in Baku by the Constitutional Court of Azerbaijan, marking the 30 anniversary of the adoption of Azerbaijan’s Constitution.

During the event, President Özerdağ delivered a speech. Following the main conference, President Özerdağ also participated in the TÜRK-AY meeting of Turkish Constitutional Courts, where the TRNC’s application for observer membership was formally reviewed and unanimously accepted through the Baku Declaration signed by all participating member states.
