8 August, 2016On 6 August, the Cyprus Turkish Chamber of Industry registered “Cyprus Carob Molasses” as a product of protected geographical indication and traditional specialty in the TRNC.
The move follows the registration of the traditional alcoholic drink “zivania” or “zivaniya” and “hellim” or “halloumi” cheese.
Speaking at a press conference, the Chairman of the Cyprus Turkish Chamber of Industry Ali Çıralı stressed that they are continuing their efforts to register olive oil, çakıstes olives (crushed olives which are harvested when green), şeftali kebab, samarella, talar cheese and walnut paste as products of protected origin.
