16 June, 2016Regarding the law approved by the Assembly about the establishment of a coordination office of Turkey’s Youth and Sports Ministry in the TRNC, Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Finance Serdar Denktaş said: “As a Minister who signed the protocol, I can say that everyone should be sure that we do not delegate any authority to anyone in any way.”
The Minister stated that he believes that the statement “we are handing over our authority” is wrong, as the agreement will ensure that both the Youth and Sports Ministries of the TRNC and Turkey will be able to co-operate together and help implement new projects for the TRNC, many of which will be funded by Turkey.
