Özersay: “The price of short-sightedness of 15 years ago has been high”

3 May, 2019Minister Özersay said that they discussed the latest stage reached on the Cyprus problem.
Pointing out the actions of the Greek Cypriot side in the Eastern Mediterranean, Özersay said that they have also mentioned the relations of the Greek Cypriot side with third countries on military, defence and security issues. Özersay added “According to us, these are the initiatives which can endanger the regional security and stability because both the Turkish Cypriot side and Turkey are excluded. These are the developments which will affect the stability of the region in a negative way”.
Furthermore, stressing that the Turkish Cypriot side and Turkey will not allow the Greek Cypriot side to usurp the rights of the Turkish Cypriots by their unilateral activities in the field of energy in the Eastern Mediterranean, Özersay said that they have also discussed how they can take measures on the issue and put our rights into practice.
