Economy and Energy Minister Atun meets with Turkish Economy Minister Zeybekçi

Economy and Energy Minister Sunat Atun went to İzmir to attend the opening ceremony of the 86th International İzmir Fair and met with Turkish Economy Minister Nihat Zeybekçi.

According to the statement made by the Ministry of Economy and Energy after the meeting, Atun noted that the joint committee, that was established for the development of the volume of trade , will continue its work.

At the inter-delegation meeting chaired by Atun and Zeybekçi, discussion topics included the “Joint committee agreement”, the TRNC fair, exports from the TRNC to other countries and the application of an experience-sharing program in product security.

After the meeting, Minister Atun attended the opening ceremony of the Izmir Fair, and  inaugurated the TRNC stand. The stand was visited by Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Turkish Minister of Science, Industry and Technology Faruk Özlü and Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak, at the invitation of Minister Atun.

During his visit to İzmir, Atun also held an inter-delegation meeting with Faruk Özlü, during which number of decisions were taken, including  the implementation of a Techno Park in the Middle East Technical University, supporting the TUBITAK channel with AR & GE projects, the completion of the industrial registry and the signing of a TSE protocol to increase cooperation between the two countries.

Atun and his delegation returned to the TRNC yesterday.
